Story
The William and Mary Brunken and family were members of the Zion Lutheran Church - Lahoma, Oklahoma. Their children, Leona, Harold and Mildred, were baptized in this church (Hilda and Alwin had been baptized in Nebraska before the family moved to Oklahoma in 1910) and all of the children were confirmed in this church. Grandfather Brunken was a active member of the church and participated in Oklahoma church conferences.Location

- As the card notes, the church was originally known as German Lutheran Church - Lahoma, Oklahoma, but was later renamed Zion Lutheran Church - Lahoma, Oklahoma.
- Barney P. Enright's biography provides interesting insights about the photographer who took this picture. http://www.cherokee-strip-museum.org/Enright/bpEnright.htm
- I remember attending services at this church many times when I was a child. I also remember the Ground Hog suppers each February 2nd. As usual, dinner was pot luck - The evening entertainment centered around determining whether the ground hog had seen his shadow.
